Paige M Medlock, PhD: Dr. Medlock teaches art education and supervises pre-service art teachers. She completed a ground-breaking and glass-breaking practice-based PhD at the University of Stirling in visual culture, looking at the intersection of art and theology through the medium of stained glass. Her work, created and written, considers how art can be redemptive for people - individuals and society - how it can create a space where sight fosters insight and an inner shift can become an outer movement as we act in this world. She has large-scale commissions installed in Scotland, the Dominican Republic, & several in Central Kentucky. She has taught art at all grade levels (preK-12, and college Art Ed teacher preparation) as well as mis/representations of religion at the college level; she has worked in local arts administration, and has created a small human, who both disrupts and more fully extends her work. She grew up in the home of an art professor and incredible family who loves to travel, laugh, renovate, and generate kindness and solutions.
